The European Flight Academy, the flight school of the Lufthansa Group, is expanding its fleet of training aircraft with three new DA-42NG-VI aircraft from the Diamond brand. With the induction of these modern and powerful aircraft, the European Flight Academy continues its tradition of providing first-class training conditions for the future pilots of the Lufthansa Group.
The new training aircraft are not only technically state-of-the-art, but also stand out with their special paint jobs. One aircraft shines with the branding of the regional airline AirDolomiti on the winglets and the tail, symbolizing the close connection within the Lufthansa Group. In addition to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, the European Flight Academy is also actively promoting flight training in Italy.
In Bremen, the three aircraft were officially handed over to the flight school by the manufacturer as part of an induction event. A traffic aircraft of the Air Dolomiti type Embraer 190 was specially provided for the event to welcome the newly painted training aircraft (see photos). Bremen serves as an important training location for the European Flight Academy's pilot training program. After a one-year theoretical phase in Bremen, students will spend six months in Goodyear, Arizona, to apply the theoretical knowledge in practical flight training. The final phase of practical training will take place in Rostock, where the three new DA-42NG-VI aircraft will be available to students. Raymund Obst, Head of Pilot Schools EFA, emphasizes: "We are proud to be able to offer our students training on the latest state-of-the-art technology with these new aircraft. This is complemented by our decades of experience as a flight school of the Lufthansa Group with its unique connection to active airline operations." The integration of our livery with those of other group companies - Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Eurowings, and Edelweiss - underscores the strong sense of belonging and collaboration that unites us," said Steffen Harbarth, CEO of Air Dolomiti.
Another aircraft is painted in a colorful rainbow flag livery on the winglets, representing diversity and standing against all forms of workplace discrimination. These values of the Lufthansa Group are also instilled in the students at the European Flight Academy's training locations in Bremen, Rostock-Laage, Grenchen, and Phoenix from the beginning of their training. The third aircraft is painted in the familiar EFA look. The three new training aircraft will expand the existing fleet of five DA-40NG and three DA-42NG-VI in Grenchen, as well as two DA-40NG and seven DA-42NG in Rostock.
